In her recent production, Ginevra Collini, Roman artist, and co-founder of Porto Simpatica, explores the combination of dreamlike dimensions and elements often drawn from archaeology, thus creating an environment in which historical and intimate temporalities overlap. Through her works, Collini immerses herself in linguistic and collective visions, overturning conventional meanings and illuminating new perspectives.
As part of this exhibition, the artist presents a sculpture inspired by her performance Gabiru, a monstrous figure that challenges the boundaries between the real and dreamlike worlds as it desperately searches for a sense of belonging in its surroundings. Collini's sulture, recalling Etruscan hut-shaped funerary urns, suggests an ambiguity between dwelling and burial for this enigmatic figure.
