Sculptures, well in marble of the eighth century, with shallow sculpture in the garden, near the Church of S. John at the Porta Latina

Parker’s close up of the Medieval well in the corner of the church forecourt shows it still in use. The frame comprises wooden poles supported by two ancient marble columns, capped with curved stone brackets. The garden wall to the left was subsequently lowered, while the solid wall of the porch behind has now been opened up, revealing the base of the campanile.
